How we built Scripts Viral, a live AI video platform

What it took to build an AI video platform people pay for every day, and what that means if you want one for your business.

Scripts Viral is an AI video platform for TikTok Shop sellers. You pick a product, pick a format, and a finished vertical video comes back with the script, the captions and the voice already done. We started building it in January 2026, and we still run it every day.

This post is the honest version of what that took. If you are thinking about an AI video platform for your own customers, it is also a map of what you would be buying.

What it does today

From the outside it looks like a video generator. Underneath, the generator is maybe a third of it. The rest is everything that turns "it can make a video" into "people pay for it every month":

  • Plans and credits. Monthly plans paid through Stripe by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or PayPal. Each video costs credits, so a heavy user and a light user both pay for what they use.
  • Refunds that happen on their own. A video that fails is refunded to the customer's credits automatically. A video that stalls is picked back up. Nobody has to email support to get their credits back.
  • An admin. Every customer, plan, video and refund in one place, plus a monthly view of money coming in against money going out, down to what each video cost.
  • An affiliate programme, so customers earn by bringing others.
  • Videos from inside ChatGPT and Claude. Since 18 October 2026 any paying customer can ask their assistant to make a video and it arrives in the chat.

The numbers we can stand behind

We only quote numbers with a source and a date:

What Number Source
Sign-ups who became paying customers, 21 Sep to 12 Oct 2026 49 of 475 Stripe and sign-up records, measured 20 October 2026
Paying customers who paid within an hour of signing up 42 of the first 62 Same, measured 20 October 2026
Updates shipped since January 2026 More than 3,300 Code history

The second line is the one we watch most. About one in ten sign-ups pay, and most of them decide in their first hour. That tells you where to spend effort on any video platform: the first visit, and how fast someone gets their first good video.

What we learned building it

The generator is the easy part to demo and the hard part to keep

A video model that works today can change next month. Providers update models, retire them, change prices and have bad days. A platform that sells video has to absorb all of that without the customer noticing. Most of our time after launch went on that, not on new features.

Credits beat unlimited

Video costs real money every time it is made. "Unlimited videos for $X a month" is a promise that loses money on your best customers. Credits make every plan safe: each video has a price, each plan buys a number of credits, and the margin is set before the first customer signs up. We wrote more about this in how to price an AI video product with credits.

Refunds are a feature

When a video fails, the customer has already waited for it. Making them ask for their credits back turns one bad video into a support ticket and, often, a cancellation. Refunding automatically costs nothing extra and keeps their trust.

The owner's screens matter as much as the customer's

The question we ask most often is not "is it working?" but "is it making money?". Without a view of what each video cost against what the customer paid, you are guessing. That view is one of the first things we build for anyone now.

Ship small, every day

More than 3,300 updates in ten months is not a boast about speed. It is how a platform like this stays healthy: small changes, checked and shipped, instead of big releases that break things at once.

What this means if you want your own

Everything above is a problem we have already solved once. That is why Picturewright can build yours in weeks instead of months: the plumbing (payments, credits, refunds, the admin, the emails) is work we know how to do, so the time goes on what makes yours different: your video formats, your look, and plans and prices that are yours.

It works for almost any niche where customers need video. Property agents need listing videos. Coaches need daily clips. Software products want video built into what their users already do. The one place we do not build is tools for TikTok Shop affiliates, because that is what Scripts Viral does.

If that sounds like your business, get in touch and tell us what you have in mind.
